In front of a strong turnout of members, Pratofutura held its general assembly, marking the end of outgoing president Marco Ranaldo’s term. Ranaldo reviewed the main topics addressed by the board, with a special focus on the “Perimetro Reale” research project, which gathered local entrepreneurs’ perspectives on business scaling, the transformation of the district, cross-shareholdings, and the development of supply chains and business networks.
During Ranaldo’s mandate, membership grew significantly to around 100 members, with a notable increase in young participants, an especially strong result in a period of declining civic engagement. By unanimous vote, Stefano Luccisano, CEO of Macoev S.r.l., was elected President of Pratofutura for the 2025–2027 term. A respected entrepreneur with a strong focus on digital innovation, Luccisano also previously served as President of the Young Entrepreneurs group at Confindustria Toscana. He will be supported by a new board—Tommaso Signorini, Mauro Stolfi, Alessio Ranaldo, Alice Piazza, Alessia Matteini, Matteo Manera, Alessandro Palombo, alongside Daniela Toccafondi.
Presenting an initial program outline, Luccisano emphasized the need to renew Pratofutura’s approach: documenting and preserving the association’s work and internal debate, while increasing its external visibility. He also proposed expanding the focus beyond the textile sector and further broadening the membership base across industries and territories. The evening included a discussion with experienced past presidents, Foresto Guarducci, Franco Bini, Stolfi and Ranaldo, reflecting on Pratofutura’s 40-year history, its research and publications, and its longstanding collaborations with university scholars across Italy.
Overall, Pratofutura was described as a dynamic, independent (non-partisan) association in active dialogue with institutions, committed to strengthening entrepreneurial culture in the Prato area, especially in times of economic uncertainty. Looking ahead, the association intends to address innovation and AI, sector diversification, and the competitive strengthening of Prato’s textile companies, topics set to be discussed at the next members’ meeting scheduled for late November.
