From 2–6 December 2024, a delegation from Regione Toscana carried out a mission to San Francisco aimed at creating new international partnerships and supporting Tuscan startups and innovative SMEs through the “Toscana Tech on the Road” initiative. The week also featured the successful opening of the “Genio Toscano” exhibition at INNOVIT, which attracted hundreds of visitors on inauguration day.

The selected companies showcased their solutions to potential investors and key representatives from the local business and academic ecosystem, within “Casa Toscana,” the region’s dedicated space at INNOVIT. The participating companies included: Traent S.r.l., Linari Engineering S.r.l., Mediate S.r.l., Macoev S.r.l., Startacrowd Società Benefit S.r.l., Sailadv S.r.l., Haruspex S.r.l., Playnook S.r.l., Knitronics S.r.l., Small Pixels S.r.l., DSQM S.r.l..
Alongside the business program, the institutional delegation, supported by the Italian Consulate, held meetings and visits with leading tech players including Apple, NVIDIA and OpenAI, as well as Stanford University, to explore collaboration opportunities and deepen understanding of AI and emerging technologies, particularly with a view to applications for public administration and regional development.
The mission also launched the “Genio Toscano” exhibition, showcasing iconic Tuscan excellence in design, style, and innovation, with participation from brands, companies, museums, and research centers—including Salvatore Ferragamo, Piaggio and the Museo del Tessuto, highlighting both heritage and contemporary innovation from Tuscany’s industrial districts.
